Vertical jump performance is a crucial aspect of many sports, including basketball, volleyball, and track and field. Improving your vertical jump can enhance your athletic performance, reduce injury risks, and give you a competitive edge. VertiCoach, an innovative app developed by VertiMax in collaboration with Asensei, is designed to help athletes, coaches, trainers, and sports enthusiasts measure, track, and improve their vertical jump performance with ease and precision.
Athletes often face several challenges when trying to optimize their vertical jump:
VertiCoach addresses these challenges by providing personalized feedback and guidance, leveraging advanced motion-capture technology and real-time analysis.
VertiCoach utilizes your phone's camera and advanced tracking software to motion-capture your movements, providing instant vertical jump measurements and feedback on your technique. This technology allows you to set up the app anywhere—in the gym, on the court, or in the field—eliminating the need for expensive and cumbersome equipment.
One of the standout features of VertiCoach is its ability to measure body symmetry using motion-capture software. This feature provides instant audio feedback to help improve your technique, ensuring that you maintain proper form during your jumps and squats.
VertiCoach tailors training to specific vertical jump techniques and squats, addressing individual needs and goals. This personalized approach ensures that each athlete can work on the areas that need the most improvement.
The app provides immediate insights on jump and squat techniques and performance metrics, enabling athletes to make instant adjustments for optimal results. This feedback is crucial for refining technique and avoiding bad habits.
With VertiCoach, you can monitor your progress over time with accurate jump height measurements. This feature allows athletes to track improvements and set new goals, keeping them motivated and focused on their training.
The app’s comprehensive Jump Score Analysis offers valuable insights into jump performance, guiding athletes toward enhanced capabilities. Gamification elements, such as score tracking and goal setting, make the training process more engaging and enjoyable.
VertiCoach is constantly evolving to provide an even better user experience and more advanced features. Some of the future enhancements planned for the app include:
(Only available for IOS download in the Apple Store Currently)
VertiCoach uses advanced computer vision and motion recognition technologies to track and measure movements including vertical jump.
The camera should be set up at a level horizontal to the user and far enough to have a full view of the user. This is typically 3-5 feet off the ground and 8-10 feet away from the user.
If you have the camera set up properly, the app is very accurate. If the camera isn’t set up at the appropriate height with a complete view of the athlete, the results will vary.
VertiCoach is not able to measure force at this time because it is only measuring the height of the jumps and not the speed of the jumps.
This version of the app includes comments in the summary of the session. In future versions, when jumps are being recorded, we will apply the comments to a specific jump.
The fatigue notification is activated when a specific jump is recorded at a reduced level when compared to the other jumps, this signifies that the athlete may be fatigued.
Only one exercise per session at this time.
The movements cannot be recorded and saved at this time. We suggest using screen recording to record your sessions.
Custom workouts can not be created at this time.
There are no samples of each exercise at this time. I would suggest searching for samples online.
VertiCoach is only able to manage one user at this time.
This version of VertiCoach cannot manage an entire team of users at this time. It can be used to measure an entire team’s vertical jump without categorizing each user's jumps. It can only be used to measure the movements.
The cost is $4.99 per month or $55 per year (10% discount).
At this time, VertiCoach is only available on iOS devices.
